Rom Braslavski Prays at Western Wall One Yom Kippur After Gaza Captivity

Captivity survivor Rom Braslavski attended the final Selichot prayers at the Western Wall and published a personal prayer ahead of Yom Kippur. He asked forgiveness for moments in captivity when he broke down, doubted, cried, fainted or felt humiliated, and said faith sustained his belief that God would return him to Israel. Braslavski said his captors repeatedly pressured him to convert to Islam and that he refused. He thanked God for saving him from death and contrasted his previous Yom Kippur in captivity in Deir al-Balah with standing free at the Western Wall this year.
