The U.S. dollar rose to NIS 3.044 in local shekel trading on Wednesday evening, September 23. Earlier in the day, the Bank of Israel's representative dollar rate stood at NIS 3.017, making the evening market quote NIS 0.027 higher, or about 0.9%. The NIS 3.044 figure was an evening trading quote, not a newly set representative rate.
