The Police Internal Investigations Department questioned five officers under caution on Monday on suspicion of abduction, aggravated assault and obstructing an investigation. Investigators suspect the officers went to an Eilat nightclub after a claim that a civilian had harassed a woman, handcuffed him and took him to an isolated area under the guise of police activity. They allegedly beat him, caused serious injuries and left him there. The officers were released to house arrest until Thursday, barred from police stations and prohibited from contacting one another for 11 days.
