Lod Court Hands Down 22-, 17- and 15-Year Sentences in Aya Abu Haj'aj Murder Case

The Lod District Court sentenced three relatives in the 2023 murder of Aya Abu Haj'aj, a 26-year-old woman killed in Lod while heavily pregnant and in front of her two young children. Her half-brother and cousin, who were about 14 and 15 at the time, received 22 and 17 years in prison respectively after convictions for joint murder under aggravated circumstances and additional offenses. Her father received 15 years for aiding the murder and additional offenses. The court also ordered compensation totaling more than NIS 300,000 for her children.
