Main Defendant in Yamano Zalka Case Admits Stabbing, Denies Murder Charge

The main defendant in Yamano Zalka’s killing admitted carrying a knife and stabbing the 21-year-old during an Independence Day eve confrontation in Petah Tikva, in a court response reported on Sunday. The minor continues to deny murder with indifference; his defense told Lod District Court that he did not foresee the stabbing causing death. The defense seeks acquittal on that charge and conviction, at most, for reckless homicide. Zalka was attacked after asking youths to stop spraying snow spray near the pizzeria where he worked.
