Dr. Ori Goldberg, an Israeli scholar of modern Iran and revolutionary movements in Shiite Islam, has died at 50. His eldest daughter, Avigail, announced his death through his social-media account, saying he died overnight after a long struggle with colon cancer. In her announcement, she described him affectionately as the best father in the world. Goldberg taught at Reichman University’s school of government, where his courses covered radical Islam, questions of identity and the relationship between religion and violence.
