Israel Says It Returned Three French Tourists After Canceling Their Stay Permits

The Population and Immigration Authority said it canceled the stay permits of three French citizens who had recently entered Israel on tourist visas and returned them to France. According to the authority, Israel Police detained them over what it described as anti-Israel activity and photographing IDF soldiers, then transferred them to its Enforcement and Foreigners Administration. The authority said the cancellation decision was made on October 12 and that each of the three received a hearing before removal. Its October 13 announcement said they were flown home that morning.
