Netanyahu Says IDF Will Retain Control Near Tulkarm During Samaria Visit

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Samaria seam-line area with the defense minister, the National Security Council head and the Central Command commander. IDF, Shin Bet and Border Police commanders briefed him on protecting nearby Israeli communities, arresting terrorists and seizing weapons. Speaking with the Tulkarm camp behind him, Netanyahu said Israeli forces would remain in control there and ruled out an Arab army west of the Jordan. He said threats had been received ahead of the elections and that the IDF had presented a response plan, adding that forces were preparing for every scenario, including weapons being turned against Israel.
