Ashkelon Council Approves Coalition Proposals, Drops Opposition Motions

Ashkelon's city council approved by majority all coalition proposals brought to a vote on Wednesday, while opposition proposals were removed from the agenda. The regular meeting's agenda covered planning, property allocations, education and transport. Items included a proposed update for plot 403 in Agamim East and a 12-month building allocation to Agudat Israel's kindergarten network in Gan HaVradim. Opposition councillor Tamar Kedar raised public transport frequency and proposed discussions on sports access and school travel arrangements. A special meeting afterward examined the municipal auditor's 2025 report and the audit committee's recommendations.
