Jerusalem Court Orders NIS 11.05 Million Transfer From UNRWA to Municipality

The Jerusalem District Court ordered Bank Leumi to transfer about NIS 11.05 million from UNRWA's blocked account to the Jerusalem municipality to settle municipal property-tax debts. Judge Haya Zandberg rejected UNRWA's immunity arguments and its attempt to dispute assessments that had become final. The liabilities cover 2024 and 2025 and concern offices and warehouses in Maalot Dafna and a school in Sur Baher. The account attachment was imposed in August 2025. The ruling requires payment directly to the municipality; completion of the transfer has not been confirmed.
