Check Point Founder Gil Shwed Questions Returns on AI Investment

Check Point founder and executive chairman Gil Shwed questioned whether the enormous sums flowing into artificial intelligence can deliver adequate returns, in an interview published on October 15. He emphasized his confidence in AI's potential while saying the financial case for investment on the present scale remains unproven. Shwed described understanding customers and solving their problems as software companies' central strengths, and said development is shifting toward people directing AI agents. He also called for substantially updated school and university curricula, greater government investment in education, and the use of AI to automate government work and improve public services.
