Fuchs Says High Court Allowed Three-Month Extension for Yehuda Eliyahu

Yossi Fuchs said on October 15 that the High Court had accepted the government's position and allowed Yehuda Eliyahu's tenure to be extended for another three months without the attorney general's consent. In an earlier post quoted in the announcement, Fuchs identified Eliyahu as acting director of the Israel Land Authority. Fuchs also disputed the legal advisers' interpretation of how service before a permanent appointment and the first acting-service period afterward should be counted. His announcement described permission for an extension, without confirming that the government had approved it.
