IDF Releases Letter It Attributes to Yahya Sinwar’s Son

The IDF on October 15 released a letter it attributes to Yahya Sinwar’s son, saying it was written early in the war when the boy was 10. The military said its troops recovered the document in Gaza in 2024. In its account, the letter describes missing his father, making paper and cardboard weapons and tanks, and wanting to shoot Jews; accompanying drawings show weapons, tanks near the Gaza–Israel border fence and rockets aimed at Israel. The IDF presented the material as evidence of Hamas’s influence on children.
