China Says Wang Urged Herzog to Open Gaza Access and Halt West Bank Settlements

China released a new account on Friday saying Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged President Isaac Herzog to fully open access routes into Gaza and halt West Bank settlement activity. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said the remarks came during their Thursday meeting at the CICA summit in Baku, Azerbaijan. Wang backed a two-state solution and described the Palestinian question as a historic injustice. Israel’s earlier account said Herzog emphasized the threats posed by Iran and its terror proxies, alongside discussion of bilateral economic and cultural ties. Neither account announced an agreement on Wang’s demands.
