IDF Discloses Killing Nukhba Commander Who Infiltrated Re’im Base on October 7

The IDF disclosed Friday that an aerial strike in southern Gaza on Wednesday killed Maher Walid Omar al-Husseini, a Nukhba cell commander in Hamas’ military wing. According to the military, he infiltrated Re’im Base during the October 7 massacre. The IDF said he had recently advanced attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and worked to rebuild Hamas’ military capabilities, violating the ceasefire. It said precautions before the strike included precision munitions and aerial surveillance, and that Southern Command troops remain deployed under the agreement to remove immediate threats.
