IDF Fires Interceptor Toward Suspected Aerial Target Near Troops in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces said Friday evening that an interceptor had been launched toward a suspected aerial target detected in the area of its troops' operations in southern Lebanon. The military described the launch as having taken place a short time before its announcement. It said no alerts were activated, in keeping with its policy. The statement did not identify the target or its origin, name a specific locality, or confirm whether the interceptor had brought it down.
