Kiryat Malakhi Announces Broader School Response to Bullying and Violence

Kiryat Malakhi Mayor Eliyahu (Lalo) Zohar announced a broader municipal school response to violence and social exclusion on Friday, October 16. All city elementary schools began the day with discussions of violence, bullying, mutual respect and personal responsibility, and Zohar said the work would continue in junior-high and high-school settings. He plans to visit secondary schools on Sunday, October 18, with Education Department head Sami Atar and education portfolio holder Shimon Hazan. Following a school violence incident on Thursday, Zohar said he had instructed the education department to support the affected pupil and family and help prevent further harm.
