Heidi Levine Undergoes Finger Surgery After Abu Falah Attack

Photographer Heidi Levine underwent surgery on a finger of her left hand on Saturday after Friday’s assault near Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah. Her daughter, Ashley Milner, said the finger had been cut to the bone, exposing a tendon, and was nearly severed. Milner also reported a broken rib, fractures in several vertebrae and cuts. Levine’s newspaper said in its Friday statement that she had been wearing visible press identification when Israeli settlers attacked her while she was reporting in the West Bank, and called for a thorough investigation.
