Michaeli Says Coalition Blocked Her Attempts to Hold Hearings on Jewish Terrorism

Merav Michaeli said on October 17 that the coalition had repeatedly prevented her from holding discussions on how the security forces handle Jewish terrorism during her two years chairing the Knesset subcommittee on IDF preparedness. She accused coalition partners of shielding that violence and described attacks on security personnel and Palestinians as a threat to Israel’s security, economy and future. Michaeli warned that the government’s conduct risked a security escalation and international sanctions. Her statement did not specify the dates or number of hearings involved, identify which members blocked them, or include a coalition response.
