Herzog Apologizes to Heidi Levine and Calls for Full Investigation of Attack

President Isaac Herzog called photographer Heidi Levine on October 17 and apologized after she was attacked by violent rioters in the Binyamin region on Friday. He condemned the assault and other serious violence, including an incident in Taybeh that day. Herzog said the attackers did not represent Israel's citizens or values. He urged the government, security authorities and law-enforcement agencies to investigate thoroughly, apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice. Describing Israel as a democratic state governed by law, he wished Levine a recovery.
