Electricity Authority Proposes Annual Cuts to Rooftop Solar Tariffs From 2027

Israel's Electricity Authority has proposed reducing guaranteed payments for new small rooftop solar installations by about 5% annually from 2027 through 2030. The draft would expand sales to private electricity suppliers with a regulated premium and introduce competition for grid connections for systems above 15 kilowatts from 2028, while exempting smaller household systems. It would also end existing incentives for battery storage installed alongside these panels. Existing installations would retain their contracted terms, and the public can submit comments on the proposal until November 10.
