Electricity Authority Panel Reportedly Backs 3 GW Data Center Grid Proposal

Electricity Authority plenary members reportedly agreed on a proposal for data-center grid connections during discussions on Sunday evening, October 18. The proposal would allow 3 gigawatts of data-center capacity, with a further 300 megawatts reserved for defense needs, and cap each new center at 200 megawatts. Developers would have to provide guarantees of NIS 2 million per megawatt. Half of those guarantees would be returned only once 60% of the requested capacity was operating. The full proposal had not yet been published.
