Electricity Authority Proposes Up to NIS 100 Million in Initial Data-Center Guarantees

The Electricity Authority is proposing an initial application guarantee of NIS 500,000 per megawatt for data-center grid connections, capped at NIS 100 million. After approvals, the guarantee would rise to NIS 2 million per megawatt, up to NIS 400 million. The proposed rules require connection applications by June 1, 2028, and would reject projects needing more than seven years to connect. Developers meeting planning and other requirements would receive priority, while additional preferences for peripheral sites, demand flexibility and efficiency remain undecided. Public comments are open until November 17.
