BIRD Foundation Discloses $7.4 Million for Seven U.S.–Israel R&D Projects

The BIRD Foundation disclosed $7.4 million in conditional grants on Tuesday for seven research and development partnerships between Israeli and U.S. companies, following board approval in September. Private-sector contributions are expected to bring the combined investment to $20 million. The projects span cancer diagnostics, satellite laser communications, quantum computing, chip memory, agricultural seed sorting and customized orthopedic tools. The program can cover up to half of each project's budget, capped at $1.5 million, without taking equity or intellectual-property rights; supported companies repay the grants through royalties on product sales.
