Polyrizon Completes Enrollment of 120 Participants in U.S. NASARIX Allergy Study

Polyrizon, a biotechnology company based in Ra’anana, disclosed on October 27 that it had completed enrollment and randomization in its U.S. clinical study of NASARIX, an investigational nasal hydrogel for adults with allergic rhinitis. The company said all 120 participants had been randomized across five clinical research sites in the United States. The study screened 144 people before reaching its enrollment target. It is a randomized, controlled study comparing NASARIX with a saline control and evaluating its performance in managing allergic-rhinitis symptoms. Chief executive Tomer Izraeli described completion of enrollment and randomization as “an important milestone in the clinical development of NASARIX.” The product candidate uses Polyrizon’s Capture and Contain technology. According to the company, the hydrogel forms an adhesive protective barrier inside the nasal cavity, designed to reduce contact between airborne allergens and nasal tissue. NASARIX remains an investigational product, and the enrollment announcement did not include clinical results or a claim of demonstrated effectiveness. Polyrizon said the study would now proceed through the remaining treatment and follow-up activities. Data review and analysis will follow in accordance with the study protocol. The company develops hydrogel-based nasal sprays; this study concerns its allergy-blocking candidate rather than an approved treatment.
