Danon Accuses U.N. Rapporteurs of Failing to Document Hamas Atrocities

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, accused two U.N. special rapporteurs on October 20 of failing to formally document Hamas atrocities despite accumulating evidence. He named Francesca Albanese and Reem Alsalem, alleging that they continued to deny the atrocities and issue hostile, false reports. Danon argued that the organization had lost its neutrality and that its handling of the October 7 attacks had undermined its moral authority. His statement responded to criticism of the U.N. by former special rapporteur Alice Jill Edwards, which he endorsed.
