El-Sayed Says Israel Is Not a U.S. Ally, Criticizes American Assistance

Michigan’s Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed said in an ABC News interview that Israel should not be regarded as an American ally. He accused Israel of accepting U.S. financial support while drawing Washington into wars that, he argued, the United States should avoid. El-Sayed illustrated his criticism with a parent-and-child analogy, describing a supposed friend who repeatedly borrows money, speaks badly about the child behind their back and pulls them into disputes, and suggesting that a parent would question the friendship.
