Mandelblit Says He Approved Netanyahu Questioning but Cannot Recall Bribery Wording

Former attorney general Avichai Mandelblit resumed testimony Tuesday at Jerusalem District Court in Benjamin Netanyahu’s trial. He said he remembered approving questioning under caution in Cases 1000, 2000 and 4000, but could not recall whether the Case 4000 authorization explicitly mentioned bribery. Defense lawyer Amit Hadad challenged that recollection against the documents, including a heavily redacted record dated February 5, 2018, arguing that their wording referred to other offenses. Prosecutor Yehudit Tirosh objected to extending the examination to documents submitted later in the proceedings.
