Ohana Urges Herzog to Pardon Netanyahu After Mandelblit Testimony

Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana wrote to President Isaac Herzog on Sunday evening, urging him to approve Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s pardon request after attending former attorney general Avichai Mandelblit’s testimony in Netanyahu’s trial. Ohana alleged in his letter that remaining charges rested on investigative actions conducted without Mandelblit’s knowledge or authorization. He said roughly seven months had passed since the request reached the president and argued that the disclosed information was sufficient for a decision. Ohana called granting a pardon the just, courageous and appropriate decision.
