Avivi Says Further Action Against Iran Is Needed to Undermine Its Regime

Retired Brig. Gen. Amir Avivi, founder of the Israel Defense and Security Forum, said sanctions and a blockade need to be followed by further military action against Iran's remaining capabilities to weaken its regime. In a new interview, he interpreted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meeting with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth as an opportunity for sensitive coordination. Avivi argued that the scale of current operations in Gaza and Lebanon reflects a strategic focus on Iran. He predicted that major action would probably follow the Israeli and U.S. elections, while saying signs of an imminent Iranian attack could prompt earlier preventive action.
