Israel Reportedly Shelved Planned October Iran Strikes After Trump Objected

Israel reportedly prepared several days of attacks on Iran for the weekend of October 10, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu backing the plans. Three people familiar with the preparations described a proposed target list covering nuclear facilities, power plants and other infrastructure. The operation was reportedly shelved after U.S. President Donald Trump opposed renewed fighting before the American midterm elections. White House deputy spokesperson Anna Kelly was quoted as saying the United States would not attack Iran before the midterms, while the report left open whether strikes could follow in the coming weeks.
