Israel Reportedly Asked U.S. to Hold Iran Action Until After October 27 Election

Israeli sources said Jerusalem had recently conveyed to Washington a preference that military action against Iran should not begin before the October 27 Knesset election. They attributed the reported position to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's concern that escalation and Iranian retaliation could disrupt civilian life and the final election campaign. The account does not establish when the message was sent, and the reported request has not been publicly confirmed. The Prime Minister's Office said Netanyahu remains in regular contact with U.S. President Donald Trump, while declining to discuss the contents of their conversations.
