Katz Warns Hezbollah Could Lose More Territory if It Joins an Iranian Attack

Defense Minister Israel Katz visited Lebanon on Wednesday and warned that Hezbollah would face a severe Israeli response if it joined Iran in an attack on Israel. He said such a move could cost Hezbollah additional territory in southern Lebanon. Katz named the Nabatieh and Litani areas as territory that would be brought into Israel’s permanent security zone in that scenario. He said the IDF was ready for a ground maneuver and also threatened evacuation of Beirut’s Dahieh district and attacks on terrorist infrastructure there. His remarks described conditional responses, rather than operations already launched.
