PMO Denies Netanyahu Pressed Trump for Iran Strikes Before Election

The Prime Minister's Office denied that Benjamin Netanyahu was urging Donald Trump to resume strikes on Iran before Israel's election. Unnamed American officials said they understood Netanyahu sought renewed operations after raising concerns about Iran's nuclear activity. An Israeli official gave a different account, saying Netanyahu told security chiefs that Trump had raised renewed fighting and asked whether Israel would join. An American official said Trump encouraged preparations without making a firm commitment. Netanyahu's office said he holds regular discussions with Trump and senior U.S. officials but does not disclose their contents.
