U.S. Officials Say Israel Embassy Has Received No Evacuation Order

U.S. officials said the American embassy in Israel had received no instruction to evacuate. They linked preparations for some U.S. diplomatic staff and relatives in the Gulf to developments in Saudi Arabia, rather than tensions with Iran. Separately, a report citing the State Department said non-emergency U.S. government employees and their family members had been ordered to leave Saudi Arabia. The department was reported to have emphasized that the departure instruction applied to Saudi Arabia alone.
