Two Referred for Preventive Treatment After Rabid Jackal Found in Taibe a-Zu'biya

The Health Ministry said Saturday that two people exposed to a rabid jackal in Taibe a-Zu'biya in the Jezreel Valley were referred for preventive treatment. The ministry received the report on October 23 and said its epidemiological investigation was continuing. Its warning covers contact with the jackal or a stray animal in the area from October 8 through October 22, including contact involving pets. The ministry asked potentially exposed people to seek urgent assessment through a health bureau, or a hospital emergency department outside working hours, and pet owners to contact their municipal veterinarian.
