Family Pays Tribute to Ron Yonatan Roytman at Ashkelon Funeral

Hundreds gathered at Ashkelon’s military cemetery on Sunday for the funeral of Ron Yonatan Roytman, 23, who was killed in Friday’s shooting attack at Judea Junction near Hebron. His father, Alexander, recited Kaddish, and both parents addressed the mourners in Russian. Roytman’s partner recalled a friendship formed during military training that became a relationship, remembering his humor, singing and gifts of flowers. His brother David spoke about their close bond and mutual support, while students and municipal enforcement personnel carrying Israeli flags lined the entrance to the cemetery.
