Iranian Official Says Nuclear Issue Is Outside Mecca Pact Talks

A senior Iranian official said Iran’s nuclear program would be excluded from talks involving the Mecca Pact countries and that the United States must first meet Tehran’s conditions for ending the war. The official was not named. Saudi diplomat Rayed Krimly identified Tehran as the venue and said Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman was leading Saudi Arabia’s delegation. Separately, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s channel published records of meetings involving Turkish, Pakistani and Saudi defense and security representatives with President Pezeshkian and Iran’s Supreme National Security Council secretary.
