Liberman Says He Will Seek Treason Investigation of Netanyahu

Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman said on Monday morning that he intended to ask Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara later that day to open an immediate criminal investigation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on an allegation of treason. Speaking in a radio interview with Gideon Oko and Amichai Atali, Liberman accused Netanyahu of being willing to take Israel into war and endanger soldiers because he feared losing the election. Those were Liberman’s allegations, rather than findings of an investigation. His statement announced a planned approach to the attorney general; it did not establish that a request had been filed or an investigation opened.
