Hundreds of Samaria Volunteers Go Door to Door in Lod to Encourage Voting
Published
Hundreds of volunteers from Samaria arrived in Lod on Tuesday, October 27, for a door-to-door effort to encourage right-wing voters to cast their ballots. The operation was organized through V26 and the united “Saving the Right” headquarters, with volunteers sent into city neighborhoods during the remaining voting hours. Before setting out, the volunteers received a briefing attended by Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, Lod Mayor Yair Revivo and deputy council head Davidi Ben Zion. Teams were given assignments and told to return to the headquarters for further tasks after completing a neighborhood. Ben Zion and Zvi Goren coordinated the organizational operation in Lod. Dagan presented the effort as an expression of ties between the two communities. “We are brothers and we are together,” he said. He recalled Samaria residents coming to Lod during the 2021 Guardian of the Walls disturbances and said Lod residents had supported Samaria at the beginning of the war. Sa’ar argued that the vote concerned Israel’s Jewish character and its ability to defend its interests against foreign sanctions and pressure for Palestinian statehood. Revivo urged volunteers to use the remaining hours to visit homes and bring people to vote. Ben Zion said the activity would continue through the final voting hours, calling on participants to avoid complacency. The effort targeted supporters of the right-wing national camp.
