Ma’ale Yosef Council Warns Northern Residents of Expected Lebanon Strikes

Ma’ale Yosef Regional Council told residents on Wednesday evening, October 28, that another wave of Israeli strikes in Lebanon was expected in the coming hours. The council relayed the security update following a notice from Northern Command’s home-front branch. The warning said strong explosion echoes could be heard in the Western Galilee, along the Ramim Ridge and in the central Upper Galilee. It also identified the northern Golan Heights as a possible area where the sounds could carry. The council asked residents to “remain alert and follow Home Front Command instructions.” The notice concerned anticipated military activity and did not identify specific targets or give a start time for the strikes. The warning follows earlier Israeli military activity in southern Lebanon. In an October 20 statement, the IDF said troops operating under Division 91 had destroyed more than 540 terrorist infrastructure sites, including weapons stores, during operations over the preceding weeks to remove threats to Israel. That earlier statement named Brigades 300, 769 and 4 and the infantry school among the participating forces. The IDF described activity around al-Khiyam, Tayr Harfa, Mays al-Jabal and Majdal Zoun, and said troops had found more than 150 weapons, including rockets, anti-tank missiles, rifles and explosives. Those figures describe the earlier operations, rather than the strikes anticipated in Wednesday evening’s notice.
