Beşiktaş Confirms Hapoel Be’er Sheva Match in Batumi

Beşiktaş announced on Friday, October 30, that its Europa League match against Hapoel Be’er Sheva will be played at Batumi Stadium in Georgia on Thursday, November 26. The fixture is in round 5 of the competition’s league phase. Beşiktaş remains the designated home team, with the match taking place outside Turkey. The Turkish club said its supporters would be able to attend the game. It said further information about ticket sales would be announced later. The announcement names both the stadium and the host city, details that had not been confirmed when Batumi first emerged as a possible venue in September. On September 7, the proposed arrangement was still awaiting official confirmation. At that point, neither Beşiktaş nor UEFA had formally confirmed Batumi, and the Turkish club’s website had not named a replacement city. Spectator admission and the precise stadium were also unresolved in that earlier report. Friday’s announcement sets out a named venue and confirms access for Beşiktaş supporters. The clubs previously faced each other in the Europa League’s round of 32 in the 2016/17 season. Beşiktaş won the away leg 3–1 and the return match in Istanbul 2–1, eliminating Hapoel Be’er Sheva. Their next meeting is now scheduled for November 26 in Batumi, with ticket-sale details still to come.
