Israeli technology companies were the targets of nine acquisition agreements in October, with seven stated or estimated transaction prices totaling roughly $8.9 billion, according to a monthly tally disclosed on November 1. The figure measures acquisition values, including pending agreements, rather than startup fundraising or payments already received. Two transactions account for about $8.6 billion of the total: Proofpoint's approximately $6.3 billion agreement for Varonis and Intel's acquisition of Classiq, reported at $2.3 billion. October's estimated value exceeds June's roughly $4.8 billion in the same dataset. The nine deals compare with 87 recorded from January through October, an average of 8.7 a month; May recorded 13 deals and July 11. Eight of October's agreements were announced between October 12 and October 26. Proofpoint and Varonis announced their all-cash agreement on October 15, setting a price of $49.75 per share. Varonis cofounder and chief executive Yaki Faitelson said: “Our mission is to secure AI and the data that powers it.” The companies expect completion in the first half of 2027, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals, and remain separate until closing. Intel announced its definitive Classiq agreement on October 26, describing the Israeli company's quantum-software platform as complementary to its quantum hardware and software. Intel did not disclose a purchase price in its announcement. It also expects completion in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory and customary conditions, with the companies remaining independent until then.
