Yes Launches yes+Car Audio Service for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Published
Yes launched yes+Car on Tuesday, November 3, extending its audio offering into vehicles equipped with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The service works through the company's existing yes+ smartphone app, with an update due to reach customers who already have it installed over the coming days. The initial offering is audio only. It includes dozens of Israeli radio stations, dedicated music channels and ready-made playlists organized by genre. Connecting a smartphone to the vehicle's built-in multimedia system brings up a dedicated interface, with controls adapted for quick navigation in the car. Customers do not need to install a separate application to use the new service. The audio streams through the phone's cellular data connection rather than a local radio signal. That allows listeners to keep accessing regional stations outside their terrestrial broadcast areas. Yes's vice president of marketing, Dror Bahat, described the launch as part of the company's effort to extend its content services beyond television and give listeners more choice over what they hear in vehicles. Bahat said roughly one-third of radio listening in Israel takes place in cars. The stated next step is the distribution of the yes+ app update in the coming days, bringing the vehicle interface to existing users.
