Car Torched in Gefen Ami; Residents Blame Attackers From Beit Ummar
A car belonging to a Jewish family was set alight on the perimeter path of Gefen Ami in Gush Etzion on Thursday evening, November 5. Residents attributed the attack to people who arrived from nearby Beit Ummar. The Hatzalah Judea and Samaria rescue organization reported that the burning took place at about 7:30 p.m. Residents said the arson followed a stone-throwing attack against people in the area a day earlier. They described the incidents as part of repeated harassment affecting the community. Netanel Bleicher, a Gefen Ami resident, voiced support for the forces operating in the area after the fire. He said: "We strengthen the security forces and call for determined action." Residents said approximately 15 families currently live in Gefen Ami and that they intend to continue developing and expanding the community despite the security incidents. The residents also described close cooperation with IDF forces serving in the sector. They said coordination with those forces helps provide a rapid response to incidents and protect the families living there. Bleicher also described the community as flourishing and linked its development to the Jewish people returning to their land.
