The first victim of 9/11 was Danny Lewin. Born in Denver, raised in Jerusalem. Captain in Sayeret Matkal. Mathematician. Co-founder of Akamai - the company that still carries a huge share of the internet. On the morning of September 11, 2001 he boarded American Airlines Flight 11 from Boston to Los Angeles and sat in seat 9B. Directly in front of him: Mohamed Atta and Abdulaziz al-Omari. Directly behind him: Satam al-Suqami. When the hijackers rose and moved toward the cockpit, Lewin - 31 years old, elite IDF officer - stood up to stop them. Al-Suqami slit his throat from behind. Flight attendants Betty Ong and Amy Sweeney radioed that a passenger in 9B had been stabbed and appeared dead. The 9/11 Commission later concluded he was almost certainly the first person murdered that day. Twenty-five minutes later Flight 11 hit the North Tower. He left a wife and two young sons. Israel is the only country outside the United States with a 9/11 memorial that lists every victim by name, built from Ground Zero steel. Danny Lewin’s name is on it. May his memory be a blessing. 🇺🇸🇮🇱
One of the seminal prayers of the high holydays - A powerful rendition of Avinu Malkeinu, performed in Jerusalem by Barbra Streisand. It took place on June 18, 2013, at the Jerusalem International Convention Center (Binyanei Ha’Uma), during the gala marking Shimon Peres’s 90th birthday and the opening of the Israeli Presidential Conference. Peres himself had asked Streisand to sing it. Streisand introduced Avinu Malkeinu by explaining that it asks God for compassion “for us and our children.” She sang the Hebrew prayer using Max Janowski’s famous musical setting, the version she had previously recorded. She then performed “People.” The audience was extraordinary: Bill Clinton, Tony Blair, Benjamin Netanyahu, Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone were among those present. May we all be inscribed in the Book of Life.
Andy Burnham and Ed Miliband’s new policy towards Israel has now been endorsed by both Hamas and Iran’s regime.
More than 5,000 leaders, public figures sign letter rejecting ‘genocide’ accusation against Israel https://t.co/Z2nXn4B86r
Israelis across the spectrum reacted to the defamatory speech in Parliament with disgust and disappointment.
Reaction from the cruel Islamic Republic who have massacred hundreds of thousands this year alone and whose ambassador is hosted in London. Sanctions on the world’s only Jewish country is a misguided and hypocritical foreign policy disaster and a stain on Britain’s reputation. https://t.co/cvY4IPk6DB

Following Miliband and Burnham’s unjust new policy, the 38 US states with anti-Israel boycott measures on the books could treat the UK’s new sanctions as an anti-Israel boycott, barring participating British companies from public contracts and divesting state funds from them. The UK now risks turning a gesture-politics boycott into a serious economic own goal.
There are streets in Israel named after British leaders who were allies of Zion and the Jewish People, including: Balfour, Allenby, King George, Churchill, Lloyd George and Wingate. It’s safe to say there will never be a street in Israel named after Miliband or Burnham.
This is a sad day in the history of British foreign policy. StandWithUs deplores and condemns the announcement of trade sanctions targeting Israeli communities in the West Bank/Judea & Samaria and eastern Jerusalem. It is an unjust, discriminatory and counterproductive measure that risks damaging prospects for peace rather than advancing them. Full statement: https://t.co/W7GTznomF3
Little more than 80 years ago, the British fought the Nazis, whose boycotts and vilification of the Jewish people culminated in the Holocaust. The UK stood for freedom. The generation that fought the Nazis has not yet entirely passed from living memory. Indeed, Jewish Holocaust survivors still live in Britain today. To witness a British government imposing any form of boycott or sanctions on the world’s only Jewish country is sickening, wrongheaded and shameful. Andy Burnham and Ed Miliband are pretending that this is helpful for peace, when in reality it is pandering to extremists for their own political gain. Israel is a British ally, and Israeli intelligence and security cooperation saves British lives. A future British government must overturn this wrong. It is an act that will live in infamy.
Erfan Mirzaei, a young Iranian artist arrested during the January uprising, was secretly executed by Iran’s Islamic Republic regime at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan on Sunday. He was arrested for protesting. He was imprisoned. Now the Islamic Republic executed him in silence. https://t.co/UnVEZDywZw
If you paid for a music concert, but were forced to endure an extremist “Free Palestine” rally, wouldn’t you want your money back? Ed Sheeran fans who were disgusted by Macklemore hijacking the concert they paid for should get their tickets refunded.
Yes, the Palestinian Authority is still paying rewards to terrorists. And continuing to take Western taxpayer money and huge numbers of donations at the same time. Pay for Slay.
🇺🇸 🇮🇱 MORE Israel-USA flights: Israir will open ticket sales tonight for flights to New York. The first flight from Tel Aviv to New York is scheduled for September 15.
⬇️ An “aid worker” who was actually a terrorist. You were lied to about Gaza. Again.
Mark Ruffalo repeatedly, obsessively promotes lies about the Jewish State - propaganda designed to demonize and vilify. George Clooney and other Hollywood elites should not be sanitizing his descent into anti-Jewish tropes and slurs. The Mark mask slipped long ago. @MarkRuffalo

When I visited Netiv Haasara, the Israeli community closest to the Gaza border, I met Sabine Taasa, lighting a memorial candle at the bomb shelter where her husband and kids were attacked with grenades by 3 terrorists on October 7, 2023. Her husband Gil, 46, threw himself on a grenade, dying while absorbing the entire explosion but saving the life of his 8 and 12 year-old sons, one of whom was blinded and the other with serious leg wounds. Their eldest son, 17, was murdered by Gaza terrorists on a beach nearby, having gone on a fishing trip with friends. Never forget.
Israel is a peace-seeking country. Israel is a moral country. Israel is a freedom-loving country. Israel is a diverse country. Israel is an important country. Israel is rambunctious, caring, ingenious, embracing and resilient. Israel is beautiful. Come see it for yourself.
