Iran Fires Ballistic Missiles at Two U.S. Bases in Jordan

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it fired ballistic missiles at the U.S.-operated King Hussein and Al Azraq air bases in Jordan early Monday, in retaliation for a U.S. strike on Larak Island. Jordan’s armed forces said air defenses intercepted eight missiles that entered the kingdom’s airspace. A U.S. official said none of the missiles hit American bases and no damage or casualties were reported. The IRGC claimed its attack caused heavy damage to technical infrastructure, maintenance facilities and fighter-aircraft positions, a claim contradicted by the U.S. assessment and not independently verified.
