Trump Vows U.S. Will Hit Iran Hard After Jordan Missile Attack

President Donald Trump told reporter Trey Yingst that the United States would respond after Iranian missiles targeted U.S. bases in Jordan, saying, “We’re going to hit them hard” and “There will be a response.” Jordan’s Armed Forces said its air defenses intercepted and destroyed eight missiles that entered the kingdom’s airspace early Monday before they could threaten people or property. Trump said almost all incoming missiles were intercepted and that one was allowed through after defenses assessed it was not headed toward anything significant. The attack followed a U.S. operation against IRGC minelaying forces on Iran’s Larak Island that CENTCOM described as an imminent threat in the Strait of Hormuz.
