Trump Weighs Limited Hormuz Strikes to Block Iran’s Military Rebuild

President Donald Trump and senior advisers are considering limited strikes in and around the Strait of Hormuz, according to three U.S. officials briefed on the discussions. The reported aim is to stop Iran rebuilding radar, air-defense and anti-ship missile capabilities used to target shipping more accurately. U.S. Central Command developed the plan during the preceding week, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reportedly backed it and sent it to the White House several days ago. Trump had not approved the plan before the weekend’s U.S.-Iran exchange of fire, but officials said he could approve it after the renewed escalation.
