Trump Rules Out Nuclear Weapons Against Iran, Calls It Militarily Defeated

U.S. President Donald Trump said he had ruled out using a nuclear weapon against Iran, while adding that he would not normally announce such limits in advance. Asked in the Oval Office whether he had excluded that option, Trump answered, “I would never say that, but the answer is yes.” He said there was no reason to use a nuclear weapon because Iran was “totally defeated militarily.” The statement came as the United States and Iran continued military exchanges around the Strait of Hormuz.
